Tuesday 6th August - National Play Day Celebration: a fun filled day for families with young children. Free activities include Musical Story Walks, river beastie hunt, water and sand play, crafts and activities for the under 5’s. Archery for older brothers and sisters 11.00am - 3.30pm. Sunday 11th August - Miners Pay Day - Victorian costume fair. • Music: Stanhope Silver Band and wandering minstrels. • Victorian games - Shuggy boats, Sheaf Tossing, Coconut Shy, Hoopla and Test Your Strength. • Why not have a go in the stocks. • Photo board. - Try on some Victorian costumes. • Blacksmith demonstration • Punch and Judy • Matting Demonstration • Wondering Urchins Why not get dressed in Victorian-style clothing! Sunday 18th August - Red Squirrel Day - Craft time for the children (red squirrel mobiles plus other thing (we have not thought up yet) Red Squirrels Northern England, Northumberland Wildlife Trust are coming with their information boards and volunteers to answer questions and disseminate information. Guided walks around our woods to try and spot some Reds. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is the schools out summer events programme – Tuesday Fun in the forest (Pre booking essential as numbers are limited) Wednesday Clay Play days - drop in workshop Thursday River Beastie Hunts - sessions 11 - 12.30 and 1.30pm - 3.00pm
